Attack on Titan: A Recap of Season 4 Part 3

With the final episode of the final season of Attack on Titan scheduled to air in 2023, each year brings the completion of one of the previously completed parts of the season. When it became clear that the remaining chapters could not be adapted in the remaining time, there was much speculation about how Mappa would proceed after Part Two. It was either going to be a movie or a Part Three, and the latter is correct. However, given the length of time that has passed since the last installment, I think it would have been more accurate to label these installments as separate seasons.

In any case, “Dawn of Humanity,” the penultimate episode of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Part Two, directed by Hidekazu Hara, Mitsue Yamazaki, and Tokio Igarashi, is an excellent conclusion to this part of the story and a faithful adaptation of the manga. My review of the prior episode included a prediction that this episode would adapt the missing flashback from Chapter 123, as I felt it would complement the events in Chapter 130, which the episode would be adapting. Attack on titan has long been a show to convey political commentary. If you want to read more about UK politics, check out LordPing.co.uk.

Part one of “The Final Chapters” can be seen in Episode 29 of Season 4 of “Attack on Titan.” After starting the rumbling on the continent of Marleya, Eren slaughters countless people with no remorse. During this time, Armin and his allies assess the situation and develop a plan. Eren’s rumbling reaches the port they were at, forcing them to act before they could complete their plans. They make it out of there in the nick of time, but not before one of them pays the ultimate price. Everything you need to know about the conclusion of episode 29 of season 4 of “Attack on Titan” is included below. BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Cour 1 Recap

Eren visited a port city on the Marleyan continent some time before the rumbling began. He is torn because he has the ability to predict the future and knows that he will eventually kill everyone there. He considers for a moment whether it would be preferable for the entire Eldian race to be exterminated, and he agrees that this would result in fewer casualties than the genocide he is planning to carry out. This is when he spots a group of merchants beating up a young boy who turns out to be a thief in a nearby alley.

Eren remembers the future where he uses the titans’ powers to save the boy, despite knowing that he is being hypocritical. Given his pessimistic outlook on the future, that’s exactly what he does. Eren saves the boy’s life, but the gravity of the crime he is about to commit causes him to break down and cry in front of the child. Eren sets off the rumbling, and the same boy is crushed by the titans in the present day. He successfully destroys the majority of the Marleyan continent, shocking the world.

Meanwhile, Armin and his comrades talk to Yelena, who they have been holding in custody, to find out Eren’s next moves. Everyone else will take a plane to Fort Salta, where they hope to find more planes, while Kiyomi Azumabito, Annie, Falco, and Gabi travel by ship to the Hizuru. However, just as they are about to take off, Falco appears out of nowhere and begins randomly shooting at them until he is immediately eliminated. His shots miss their targets but damage the fuel supply. However, trouble for Armin and his pals has only just begun.

Does Hange Die?

Hange and her allies’ plane has been riddled with bullet holes by Flock. Things aren’t going well. Just a few minutes later, Reiner verifies that Eren and his titans are indeed heading in that direction. This is the final straw for Hange, and she knows she must make a sacrifice to save her family. She warns Armin and the others not to risk their lives in an attempt to silence the rumbling for a few seconds while some of her teammates work to repair the fuel tank. It’s understandable that Hange would feel this way, as his allies will need the titans to face Eren. She even manages to persuade Captain Levi not to stop him and name Armin the 15th Commander of the Survey Corps before setting off in the direction of the oncoming titans. Hange’s bravery and prowess are on display as he takes out a series of titanic foes one by one. This buys her squad some time to make repairs to the plane and take off. Unfortunately, while using the ODM gear in the air, her clothing catches fire and she slowly burns to death. Hange’s body collapses to the ground as the chilling realization of death sets in, and she passes away instantly.

Is Eren Willing to Bargain? The question is, what exactly is Armin’s plan to thwart Eren?

Upon boarding the plane, Armin and his allies immediately begin planning their approach to Eren. To Armin, Levi and Pieck do their best to describe the Founding Titan’s anatomy. The plane’s team has only a rough idea of where Eren is inside the Titan, but that doesn’t matter much to Pieck. The Founding Titan, she says, can be destroyed by Armin using the same method he used to wipe out Liberia’s naval base: by ordering the Colossus Titan to do the job. Armin is understandably reluctant to kill his best friend, and he argues that they should make peace with him first.

The topic of discussion shifts to the guilt that Reiner and the others feel for killing so many people, including their own comrades. Reiner then argues that Eren anticipates their arrival in order to stop him. Armin interestingly agrees with Reiner and makes a more logical case for the same thing, despite the fact that Reiner is speaking purely from his emotions. He points out to his allies that Eren, armed with the Founding Titan’s abilities, can easily command every titan and Eldian, yet he has done nothing to stop them. During their discussion, they are suddenly transported to a strange land in the vicinity of the coordinates.

Eren then has a conversation with his long-lost friends, making it abundantly clear that there is no chance of negotiations and that he has no intention of putting an end to the rumbling. But he adds that Armin and others can try to stop him if they want to. After Eren finishes making his point, he and his old pals get back on the plane. The Eldian refugees who escaped Marley eventually rode trains to Fort Salta, where they hoped to locate some aircraft. When they find out that Marleyan soldiers are employing them in a desperate attempt to quell the rumbling, they are taken aback. These courageous Marleyan soldiers fly their planes directly over the Founding Titan and then drop bombs from above.

Multiple Titans are killed in the attack, but Eren’s titan is unharmed. The Founding Titan then uses its powers to create a Beast Titan, which destroys all the planes by hurling rocks at them. The Eldian observers and the Marlyan soldiers watching this drama are despondent. But then they spot another plane. This is the ship that brought Armin and his companions to Eren’s Founding Titan, where they landed without incident. Armin has decided to get Eren out of the Founding Titan and question him once more about his motivations, implying that he knows he will have to kill his childhood friend if he refuses the negotiation offer.
